Dr. Stacey Brickson

Stacey has been on a bike since age 7, but it wasn’t until college—after stumbling upon a sprint triathlon—that she realized bikes didn’t need motors. She went on to complete six Ironman races, including the World Championship in Kona, before transitioning to endurance cycling. Her favorite (and toughest) events include L’Ariegeoise, LOTOJA, Haute Route Norway, Race Across the West (4-person relay), Mallorca312, and 20 Horribly Hilly Hundreds in Wisconsin.

In 2013, she founded BrickO’s Drafters, a grassroots cycling club that’s grown to over 150 local riders across six decades in age. Helping others find their power through pedaling has become her greatest joy.

Dr. Brickson brings 30 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer, and Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She earned her PhD in Exercise Physiology from UW–Madison in 2002, focusing on muscle injury, and joined the UW Human Performance Lab in 2015 to research how factors like sleep, mood, and training load affect injury and illness in athletes.

She’s worked alongside professional bike fitter Colin O’Brien at Cronometro for nearly a decade, performing musculoskeletal assessments as part of therapeutic bike fits. She is a certified fitter with both the Serotta International Cycling Institute and BikePT, and holds a USA Cycling Level 3 coaching license. Above all, Stacey is passionate about making cycling accessible and empowering for people of all ages and abilities.
