As an environmental physiologist, Dr. Stephen Cheung has spent much of his career trying to determine why athletic performances decline with a rise in temperatures.
Undoubtedly, heat can impair performance. However, in this workshop Dr. Cheung uses evidence to demonstrate that the human body operates well within a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
Furthermore, our performances won’t necessarily decline even if our physiology is impacted differently across this range of conditions.
Dr. Cheung offers several tips to improve indoor cycling conditions to minimize any environmental impact. Hint: Airflow changes everything!
